We are so happy to announce that the EDE Palestine, the first one ever to be offered in this land and the first EDE mainly in Arabic, will be running in Farkha Village!
Farkha is a Palestinian village set among olive groves on green terraced hills midway between Ramallah and Nablus. It has around 1300 inhabitants who have developed remarkable communitarian structures and habits. The community and its leadership have a global perspective: for 21 years hosting the International Youth Festival of Farkha, which draws visitors from the region and the world. The main economic revenue is coming from the production of organic olive oil, and household, chemical-free gardening is encouraged and widely practiced. The Union of Organic Olive Oil Producers is headquartered here, as well as a few women's cooperatives. Residents practice composting and rooftop-rainwater harvesting.
Farkha is interested in transitioning to become the first Palestinian Ecovillage!
